Considered the largest tomato fight in the world, La Tomatina has been taking place in Bunol, Spain for more than six decades. Every year on the last Wednesday of August, tens of thousands of people worldwide come to the small town, turning the streets into an exciting party with people throwing tomatoes at one another. People can fully let their hair loose and express their inner self（自己的内心） . It’s probably Spain’s most famous festival, and gives a new meaning to the expression "playing with your food". Although the highlight of the festival is the tomato fight that occurs on the Wednesday, the party begins earlier in the week and carries on for a full week with musical bands, fireworks, food, and revelry(狂欢). This is a battle with no winners, but it is fun for all. The tomato throwing begins with the "Olé! OléOlé!" chants （咏唱）, waiting for the cannon shot that will signal the beginning of the tomato fight! Five huge tomato filled rockets are fired into the skies above the town. As the excited crowd chants, the first truck arrives, loaded with thousands of pounds of tomatoes. Three more trucks will follow, and an hour of completely chaos begins! From this point on, it’s every man, woman and child for themselves as the event turns into a tomato-throwing battle zone. About 275,000 pounds of tomatoes in total will be hurled（猛投）as the streets turn into rivers of tomato-slimed juice. As chaotic (混乱的) as the event is, there are a few rules you’re expected to obey to as set out by Bunol Town Council:
●It’s illegal to bring any kind of bottles or any object that could causeharm.
●Tomatoes must be squashed (摔碎) before being thrown so that no one gets injured.
●As soon as the 2nd rocket is fired you must stop throwing tomatoes.
The town claims to have been free of accidents so far during the tomato throwing festival.
